Communities We're Praying For
Famine and severe food insecurity are affecting South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti, and Afghanistan, with conflict and displacement driving acute hunger in each location. In South Sudan, over 7.8 million people face high levels of acute food insecurity, while Afghanistan requires humanitarian assistance for 22 million people, including 8.45 million displaced individuals. Haiti and the Democratic Republic of the Congo also report rising numbers of individuals struggling to access adequate food due to ongoing instability and economic challenges.
A Prayer for Affected Communities
Heavenly Father, we praise your loin-sustaining mercy and your presence with the suffering. We lift up our brothers and sisters in **South Sudan**, the **Democratic Republic of the Congo**, **Haiti**, and **Afghanistan**, where 22 million people in Afghanistan require humanitarian assistance, including 8.45 million displaced individuals, and 14.9 million are projected to need aid in 2026 due to acute food insecurity . We pray for families facing hunger, for responders striving to reach 5.9 million people with assistance, and for leaders to secure the over $3.23 billion needed to address these crises . You promise to be near the brokenhearted and to feed the hungry. We trust in the healing power of **Jesus Christ** and the comfort of the **Holy Spirit**, holding hope firmly in Christ. In Jesus-Christ's name we pray. Amen!
