A strong earthquake and related disasters affected multiple areas across Colombia, Indonesia, Nepal, and neighboring regions, with additional reports from Venezuela, Japan, China, Spain, Peru, the Philippines, and Vanuatu. Reported impacts include deaths, injuries, evacuations, damaged homes and infrastructure, and ongoing search-and-response efforts in western Colombia, East Nusa Tenggara and other parts of Indonesia, and along the Nepal-Tibet border.
A Prayer for Affected Communities
Heavenly Father, we praise You for Your mercy, power, and faithful love that sustain our lives. We lift before You Colombia, the Philippines, Japan, China, Vanuatu, Indonesia, Nepal, Venezuela, Spain, and Peru. We pray for the people in Indonesia facing loss, injury, and displacement; for families and responders in Colombia as recovery continues; and for those in Nepal near the border who are searching for the missing and caring for the wounded. Give our leaders wisdom, our communities peace, and our healers strength. Jesus Christ, be our refuge; Holy Spirit, bring comfort and courage. Your presence is our hope, and our confidence rests in Christ. In Jesus-Christ's name we pray. Amen!
