A Prayer for Affected Communities
Heavenly Father, we lift up with heavy hearts all affected by the devastating Earthquake in the affected regions, where homes have crumbled and lives shattered. Comfort those who lost homes, loved ones, or possessions, and hold close families separated or trembling in fear. Be especially near the children who are scared and traumatized, calming their nightmares with Your peace. Strengthen rescue workers, first responders, medical teams, and aid workers as they rush to help, and grant wisdom to government leaders making critical decisions. We pray for community healing and the rebuilding of lives and neighborhoods. Remind everyone that You are close to the brokenhearted, fulfilling Your promise that “the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Let Your love be their steady foundation even as the earth trembles.
